This is a band you want to shoot. I might not be a big fan of Imagine Dragons’ music, but when I shot them at a festival in 2013 I knew this was a band so dynamic that it makes you want to shoot them every time. Imagine Dragons returned to Mexico City for the third time and their second headlining show, this time at the Sports Palace. Right before the show started, the fans lighted up their cellphones creating a good vibe to welcome the band. This was almost a perfect gig to shoot: band members that move around a lot and great lighting. There were only a couple of dollies with video cameras that limited us to the center of the stage, but in the end this was better because for the third song when, lead singer Dan Reynolds, Mexican flag in hand, came down to a small platform right between the stage and the fans, and just in front of me.
The gear I used for this show: Sony α99, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8
