Yann Tiersen made the soundtrack to the movie The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain among some outstanding other records. It was the kick-off for his European tour promoting his eight record “Infinity”.
The lights where great for this set – creating a very atmospheric glow which was emphasized by the well positioned light-bulbs which gave the stage a wonderful bizarre set-up with a foggy background, perfectly matching to Yann’s music. All musicians where harmonizing well together and they obviously really enjoyed this show, though all of them where rather modest than outgoing about their performance. The intensity of some songs was just amazing and I dare to say that this concert was one of the best gigs I’ve attended this year. Yann and his band used slow and thoughtful melodies equally as powerful and energetic songs to guide the audience through the show. I really recommend to go and just enjoy watching them to be taken up in their performance.
I used a Canon 6D with a Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 and an additional Canon 40D with a Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 for shots from the balcony. Check out the full gallery to see more.
